Far too many characters and not much of a story.Badly researched,one character told another to give his children fish fingers for tea,it was 1945,fish fingers didn't arrive in Great Britain till 1955 and poor people didn't have fridges in 1945.I lost interest after that.

Whilst I enjoyed the book and reading about these women from my home city.Some of the background history is wrong.Using Marigold gloves to wash up just didn't happen,they became popular After the war and to be honest very few working class women used them even then.Also Quiche was not something that was eaten then.It would help if the writer did a little more research.

Dark but humourous You have to see this film for yourself,if someone tries to tell the story to you it will just sound weird.It is atmospheric and bizarre but one of the best films Ive seen.Wonderful acting.
