It’s a really flat movie, they fail at making the main characters into people that the audience can root for or even get attached to. I honestly felt nothing when they started dying. The makeup they did on Abigail that made her look creepy were meh. Don’t even get me started on the dialogue within the group, it just sounds like everyone was trying too hard to be edgy. They’d drop the F bomb to sound intense or serious, but it just has the opposite effect. The plot was so slow in the beginning too, and it was honestly very predictable that the characters were trapped since the beginning. The game with Joey at the beginning where she basically breaks down each character, it’s such a copout to “oh this is what archetype this character is” without actually showcasing it. Abigail’s monologue at the end explaining why everyone is there is just… funny. Like, okay, cool Abigail 🤣. The delivery just felt so flat. It could be categorized as a comedy in my honest opinion, it wasn’t very horrific or anything.

Why did they write Gilbert and Violet in a romantic light when the former is 29 years old and Violet is 14 years old? Ruined the plot for me, they could’ve just directed them in a familial love type of light, “I love you” can be many things. Not just romantic. :/
