As a boomer, it was quite the strange read. The deceit, or lack of honesty by the main character and the back and forth of extreme emotions she exhibited were unsettling and seemed unauthentic to me. The “woke” bent in regard to homosexuality, transsexual references and the total pro abortion stance was offsetting to me and the main character’s incongruity in her relationship with her husband was nothing less than bizarre in my opinion. I got the impression it was written in great haste as I did not get to know the characters as in depth as I would have liked. I was disappointed and I’m glad I can return the book to the bookseller and receive half of the price back. I’m sorry, but this was not the summer read for which I sought.
