Interesting to read this essay and look to its relevance to today's world and the political drama played on the American stage most recently. I teach English in a middle/high school abroad and will incorporate this essay as part of the required reading of the year, difficult as it is in terms of its literary style. Kids raised with computer games find it virtually impossible to navigate the rough seas of Civil Disobedience, and let themselves sink to the bottom of the sea without realizing what hit them.
