Disappointed overall, unsure if I expected too much or the hype around the game made me expect more. But after finishing the game I'm left wanting more from it, the main story line itself feels indifferent with no real connections to any of the characters you interact with. The classes are mostly cut scenes with one or two moments to flick the analog to engage, followed by then being taught a spell picking it up first try with no practice. When walking around Hogwarts it's feels very empty and although the Castle itself is stunning, classmates and teachers lack character and personality. Meanwhile nothing feels natural when interacting with anything in the world and although seeing things for the first time is cool, that soon dies off due to repetition of the same thing happening over and over again. Oh look it's Peeves doing one of the three things he does. Nothing random seems to really happen. The spell wheel is annoying, essentially you pause the game mid fight to change the spell slots to one that you can actually hurt an enemy with. The menus are shocking, STOP USING A CURSOR SYSTEM! Let alone the fact you have to change gear every two minutes and navigation to do so is so slow. Once I was powerful enough through upgrades and strong spells I just used the same four spell slots for every single fight. That being said the side missions definitely beef the game up, plenty to do and get lost in, even if it's just for the trophies. Flying the broom is fun for a few mintes until you unlock all of the fast travel points, then there is no need to actually fly anywhere. All in all not what I expected and feel people over hype it because its Harry Potter/Hogwarts.
