So this review is someone who had actually seen the original maula jatt movie in the 1980s in pakistan , I had to watch the remake of Maula Jatt and was wondering ifwould live upto the hype. To my surprise this movie was actually very entertaining and kept me engrossed. There were parts similar to those of gladiator and that was quite entertaining. Dialogues were amazing , I recall the original dialogues of sultan Rahi and soooniyounnn was somewhere stuck in my brain from childhood memories and now it surfaced again which made me smile. I can't say I recall the real maula jat and how he was but this maula was a drunkard for sure! Lol! Noori was a complex guy with unbelievable dialogues and maakha was a jackass and a dum maro dum kinda guy and mahira khan's role was of an extra I don't even recall her character's name in the movie and she had only one shalwar kameez and the ‘daro' was more like Daru (intoxicatingly attractive) but had a very quick ending. I liked her style though. Poor mumsie was nice lady and her son forgot his name was always looking for trouble and not minding his business and was not a good poet as well. Jago was a typical traitor. All in all a very good movie. Some scenes made our jaws drop and some just made me wonder isn't it a very long movie - overall such movies coming out of Lollywood makes one feel very proud. A right mix of sugar and salt, smiles and tears, expectation and anticipation - could have been a true story. Loved it! 10/10
