Blue Beetle is a decent superhero movie with a lot of heart. Xolo Maridueña does a great job as Jaime Reyes, and the family dynamic is one of the best parts of the film. The humor mostly lands, and the action scenes are entertaining, though nothing groundbreaking. The villain is pretty generic, and the plot follows a predictable formula, but the movie’s charm helps make up for it. The Latino representation is refreshing, and the film has some emotional moments that stand out. It’s not the best DC movie, but it’s a fun watch if you’re into superhero films.
