What a mess what a disaster, all that money spent on early 1900s sets and props , only to be sabotaged by non period outfits , makeup , shoes language and behaviour. The movie is set in 1926 and there were no seasoned female directors until the late 1930s. In fact Dorothy Azner didnt direct her first film until 1927. This constant distortion of history putting modern language , values and opportunities back in periods when it didnt exist , destroys the narrative , distorts history and most importantly doesn’t show or represent the flaws of the past. At best this is a fantasy of a past that didnt exist and at its worst , it’s a self indulgent exuberant hedonistic tripe that just wastes an awful lot of talent. How do these abominations get green lit?

And yet another film with a single idea that drags it out, not for 90 minutes , not for 2 hour but for almost 2 and a half hours. The entire story would be far better executed in 30 minutes. Gone are the days where multiple concepts are explored in one film. We’re repeatedly subjected to one idea with empty vacuous pseudo horror moments to fill the gaps between the start and the finish. If the content doesn’t support the ending then it should be on the cutting room floor. Ultimately it suffers from all the issues that the series LOST suffered from. Empty suspenseful content , with far too much vacuous dialogue. promising an ending that when it comes is obvious, shallow and transparent. Is this really the best writing available for motion pictures in Hollywood?

Nicole Kidman has one of the worst box office records for her fee vs the return on a movies gross sales. Her current attempt at acting, in Bwing Ricardo’s is an abomination and insult to film acting. Nicole Kidman is Noooo Lucille ball ! Apart from an incredibly poor job on prosthetic make up, the first time we hear Ricky and Lucy , they use two impersonators too deliver the lines. Why did they do that ? because neither Nicole Kidman or Anthony Bardain can pull off their voices. Even worse, Lucille ball was a strong willed , charismatic , endearing warm quirky personality. Nicole Kidman is a dead fish! Why do they keep hiring her in Hollywood!

An exceptional series which gets the balance of action and character development right for a change. It’s only flaw is the last episode which uses a particular story arc trope that’s been done to death. The last episode could have been eliminated and it still would have left the viewer with a strong ending and the ability to create a second series. Sadly, this is the sort of show that only works once but I’m sure given it’s popularity they’ll attempt to make a series 2 which will fail!

What if Baz Lurhman had an affair with the cast of High School Musical and the Woke Brigade? Well you end up with this cheese ball rework of a classic story. Cinderella no longer aspires to marry the prince but instead wants to run her own fashion line. It’s all ok though cause auto tune is in full effect and we have the entire diverse and LBGTQIA representation, although Mexicans and asians were heavily under represented so I am sure someone will be offended. Also all the main cast members were white and Caucasian with secondary roles only being given to Diverse and culturally exceptional individuals who managed to represent minorities, while still representing the best of American affluent white culture. Oh and James Corden is in it. That should sum it up for you.

Wesley snipes was good , costume design good , that’s the 2/10. Whoever cast the son was a big big miscasting. Terrible actor. Tracey Morgan cashed a cheque. Repeated story line. Dated. Dance sequences edited waaay to short. Sequence in the office with the son talking to the guy about a job, should have been cut out. Just not funny at all... beyond desperate and sad. Cannot believe that’s the most creative story they could come up with. Felt like a spot the humour competition.

What a long , messy , chaotic , poorly produced, badly acted and atrociously written piece of drama...

It always concerns me when any show has someone shagging in the first 5 minutes, especially when it’s just a gratuitous shot at saying “ this is goin to be a raunchy show “ Add to that the bizarre woke casting of minorities in a time when it was rare as hens teeth for this to happen. Cardboard performances abound with non period dialogue and endlessly cliche story lines like “ the pretty girl is getting married and the other sisters miss out. Add to that , the production values of having all the visuals heavily saturated with zero aesthetics make it a deeply lack lustre show If the rumours are true , no woman can be bested by any male on any TV or film show which now makes for very weak storyline’s and role models.
