I slipped into the first audiobook, in the series “Into the Wilderness” like I did my favourite reading spot. I developed relationships with many of the characters, even the unpleasant ones. However I fell in love with Nathaniel and Elizabeth. They both showed their depth of character and love for each other throughout by working together, respecting each others ideas and valuing the contributions of the other. This book, in fact the whole series, is peopled with unforgettable characters who are often so intensely themselves that even if you dislike them you have to admire how they stick to their guns no matter how difficult it makes their lives.
