Let me start by saying I love Kevin Bridge’s stand up - who doesn’t
And I soooo wanted to feel the same about this, his first novel
So do I give him some slack ?
No, of course not
It’s very amusing in parts but it’s massively over-written and could easily have been 100 pages shorter with no diminution of well anything.
The plot is wafer thin and whilst the denouement is amusing it’s tragically underweight
It started off Irvine Welsh and finished more Denise Welsh
