After reading "The Good Shepherd" which "Greyhound" is based on I heard about the movie. The book was a page-turner in every sense of the word and since most movies made from books seldom live up to the hype I wasn't too sure what to expect. But since Tom Hanks was in it I decided to give it a try. This is one of the very few movies I've seen that matches up to the book in every way. The tension throughout is palpable. I felt like a terrified member of the crew and felt the fatigue and sense of loss experienced by the Captain. Hell, I didn't take a deep breath until the last 5 minutes when they were finally out of danger. This is a remarkable piece of literature brought to life. The acting & special effects are first-rate. C. S. Forester would be proud.

This is a well-done action movie that, once the action begins, doesn't slow down until the end. Special effects are rather spectacular. Chris Hemsworth plays the lead role as a former Aussie Special Ops soldier credibly and his "opponent" does an excellent job as an equally-skilled former south Asian Spec Ops operative. Very good supporting cast adds substance to the story. Hemsworth ultimately projects a hidden emotional connection to the young victim as does the young man toward Hemsworth. Very bloody with a very high body count, not to mention some interesting, if not expected, twists & turns. Recommended.
