I loved watching Arthur as a kid! (It was my favorite show actually.) It was very entertaining. Also, the dilemmas depicted were actually realistic.
I feel like the kids shows that started around 2007ish on the noncable channels (all I had access to) all featured stories where the kids created and perpetuated problems in really obviously unwise ways.
Arthur was never like that. The characters in Arthur stumbled into real predicaments (some of them actually quite mature and nuanced) and then figured out how to solve those situations.
Arthur smoothly hit on topics like cultural differences, having divorced parents, economic differences between families, religious differences, injustice, bullying, and many other topics from the real world.
