Just really didnt get it...the pacing is glacial, the writing feels really laboured, the narration from Cormer is really quite annoying due to the accent she puts on and for 90% of the movie absolutely nothing happens. its a shame because there was potential for this movie to be something.
Some of the actors are terrific but they dont do anything with the talent they got. Hardys character is supposed to be this stoic leader type but he just comes across as an incompetent, reslusive dunce who cant string 2 words together. meanwhile you have actors like Norman Reedus and Michael Shannon with characters that once again...do nothing. id say over half the movie is Butler and Cormer just smoking cigarettes while Cormer narrates something in that really singsong 70s diner voice shes putting on and a good 20% is shots of people riding motorcycles from point A to point B with very little context.
I walked away from this thinking "thats 2 hours im never getting back..."
I get what they were going for. "small town biker club spirals outa control becoming a criminal gang and they cant control it." that was the elevator pitch of the movie and it sounded good. but man, they fumbled it so hard.
