It's so much nothingness, it's insane. The plot/story line is severely lacking.
It seems like they were trying to make up for an extreme lack of a plot by playing up all of the sex scenes. They wanted that and the bougie set design to compensate for the complete lack of a story. It’s very surprising that it was made by the same creator of Euphoria. Euphoria had so much depth and layers to it. This on the other hand, is so one dimensional. Instead of being so wrapped up with the highly sexual scenes and aesthetics, they should’ve focused on the actual plot. I stopped watching not long after I got started. Someone mentioned that it’s like a soft core porn and I’d definitely agree. It’s like erotica light.
I also realized through this, that I’m not a fan of Lilly Rose Depp. I heard that she wished there was more sex scenes. I feel like she’s not a very good actress and just wanted to use the shock factor to jump start her career and I have to say that I don’t respect that move. Lilly is a nepo baby who doesn’t even acknowledge her privilege. She said that you wouldn’t undercut the child of a doctor who also became a doctor, so how can you say that her father is the only reason she’s successful too. I think that’s an incredibly ignorant thing to say.
I think Lilly needs to go back to working and learning her craft so she can take on roles that don’t just involve sexuality for shock factor. If she really wants a legacy and the notoriety that her father has, she’ll need more than just that.
And lastly, the Weekend sucked. He should just stick to music. His performance was not compelling whatsoever. As someone mentioned, it’s giving dollar store Christian Grey. He does not come through as charismatic, charming or the least bit sexy/ desirable. There is no way we can believe that he is able to manipulate so many people and put them under his spell with such an extreme lack of charm. He reads very dry and forced. Like he was the only one available to be casted. It just was a terrible fit. He does not give sexual energy, which is so ironic considering his music is so sultry. You would’ve thought that would’ve been second nature to him but I guess he may just aspire to be that man and sings about what he wants to emulate. Whats that saying? Someone who says they are something, is usually not that. Makes sense bearing that in mind. But yeah, skip this guys. Not worth your time!
