Very poor direction with a distorted version of the original story, illogical timescale and sequence of events! They have shown the time period of 1965-1980(not in accordance with real story), during which vehicles were available for trips. Still the kabuliwala was shown to walk down all the way from Afghanistan to Kolkata as it used to happen during the 19th century!! Secondly, the moment he came to Kolkata, he was shown to speak in Bengali. How did he learn the language so fast? It seems the movie was made to please a particular section of the society and their representative political party while the original story took a backseat. The movie lacked spark and failed to create a long-lasting impact on the viewer's mind, unlike the original story. Lastly, Mithun Chakraborty neither was suitable for the role of pathan nor could he do justice to the role through his rather weak acting!
