Love this movie...Betty Hutton IS sooo AMAZING!!! She had EVERYTHING!!! She's one of the special ones when just when you think the other 'sisters'(in this film anyway) could be hmmm... better looking or more 'sophisticated'...& thennn.....BOOM....She comes swooping in w/everything! Before you know it, you see she's the most beautiful one...Inside & out...& She just got better & better too! She was a powerhouse & a "quadruple-threat"!!! GOD BLESS HER HEART!!! BostonRachel

This 1st 'Topper' I really like Bcuz I love Cary Grant #1, but I really loved it...I watched the 2nd one 1st & so I was not sure what to expect. But I loved Joan Blondell in 'Topper Returns', except Grant isn't in it...I do love this movie series. During the 2nd one I kept saying that the actress that plays Topper's wife sounds just like; 'Glinda, The Good Witch Of The North'... From the Wizard of OZ...& I really didn't think much into it, I was figuring it was just how the accent was at that time. Bcuz all of our accents have changed, all of over the world as we become more in touch which each other. The Boston & New York accents have a distinctly different sound now...Everything was better back then! What I wouldn't give to have been a woman about 20-25-ish in 1940's Hollywood! From the clothes, hats, nightgowns.....& then the men wore those great hats too! I love it all...I not only enjoyed these movies for the stars that were in them. But I also thought that the directing and sets were amazing. The camera tricks they used were great for that era..Almost a bit before it's time, I feel. Just like I feel I am a bit after my time. Who knows, perhaps I am in that place in another dimension. The movies are cute & fun...SPOILER: Not to spoil it, but I probably would have watched it sooner if I had known that someone in each of them dies & they can become a ghost that is visible or unvisible & the camera tricks are fun, especially for an older movie... I love black & white movies anyhow; That's what they mean when they say;"SILVER SCREEN"...Thumbs uppp from Boston! Rachel ;)
