So they wanted a gay actress to play a gay character, but she looks and acts very tom-boyish, that they may as well have just cast a feminine man to play the role. So "yay, we don't need a man to help us...." but she's hardly the 'typical' woman either. It's a whole bunch of gender politics being shoved down our throats. Why couldn't she be kick ass fighting woman who just happens to be gay.... nope she's a uniquely, gay woman who just happens to be Batwoman. Zzzzzz
