Just awful. Couldn’t finish and bailed after two episodes. I have enjoyed several Harlan Corbin’s series but whenever they are translated….the voice over actors are lacklustre and boring. Well…,this was even worse…the main character was a terrible actress. She wandered around looking like she needed to sleep for a week and couldn’t care less. The scene where she randomly had sex with Leo was unnecessary and tacky….especially since she immediately sold him out after and proved what a lousy investigative reporter she was. Harlan Corbin should be more judicious over whom he chooses to bring his books to the small screen. This was another poorly done one and people will soon know not to bother.

Heavy slogging! Not light reading so ends up feeling tedious and boring! I see other reviewers loved it but this was my first Niall Williams book and honestly not worth committing so many hours to reading. I’m bowing out a third of the way through.

Just awful. Couldn’t even get through 2nd episode. Harlan Corbin needs to have greater control or interest in the adaptations of his book. Obviously dubbed from Polish by bored, lacklustre voice actors. Dialogue made no sense. Terrible acting and weak and mindless plot. That is over an hour I’ll never get back.
