The characters are slightly interesting, but they flail around being miserable for what seems like no reason. It does seem pretentious when they can’t manage their lives yet expound at length that it is the messed up world’s fault ( sort of). I am glad they end up relatively happy, but with more emotional intelligence they could have been happier more often along the way. And that would have been more engaging.
