These women are smashing. Great show. Kim- GO GIRL. You are such an inspiration because you don't stop raising the bar. You're a strong and resilient human being because people give you crap for no reason. You are a timeless beauty- my kids will tell you- I think you are the most beautiful woman in the world, and no one rivals you. Period. I love watching you on screen- Keep going, and I'm already looking forward to new seasons. Niecy, Naomi, Teyana, Glen Close, and Kim are just marvelous. This should highlight the absolute devastation of the loss of a long-standing relationship (specifically marriage in the show, so far). The true life themes of rage, betrayal, grief, a sense of loss (to no end), the repeated cuts of learning more about someone you loved over time---being a total monster or stranger... I don't feel so alone after 21 years of the forced end of my own relationship, sense of self as I knew it, etc... Every woman, every story, every detail....it's so raw and true to life. This show has been therapeutic for me, 1.5 years post-separation and dealing with a total monster and stranger. My life was wrecked by betrayal, lies, deceit, and then the inflammatory behavior of my ex. It feels like a never-ending nightmare. That line..." will it ever be over.." is what I go through on nearly an everyday basis, 1.5 years later. Twenty-one years is a lot of time to spend with someone who becomes your total enemy, when all you want is peace for yourself, the kids, and them. If you are a man or woman feeling the impact of betrayal, may you be gentle with yourself and take one step at a time, moment by moment — take the woman's advice and work on rebuilding yourself. Even if it takes forever, it will be time well spent. It's still foreign to me, but I will keep trying to carry on.
