this game bothers me. I understand that black ops games are much different from modern warfare, so people will undoubtedly feel strange jumping from one to the other, especially in terms of movement. my biggest problem with the game is the apparent disregard for split screen support. just go on reddit and you'll see what I mean. the game has massive black boxes on the sides (which modern warfare didn't have) making the experience so claustrophobic that its impossible to see the tiny enemies that seamlessly blend into the low texture backgrounds of glitching trees and grass (yes cartel and crossroad strike I'm looking at you). not to mention the frame rate drops to like 10 frames so by the time you even see an enemy you've already died but the game hasn't processed it yet. Also, if you are the second player in split screen the game freezes your controller so you are unable to edit your classes both in lobby and in game. THEY REMOVED SPLITSCREEN ZOMBIES which is a staple in call of duty games. being able to play with your friends on the couch together apparently doesn't matter to Activision anymore, which makes me wants to stop playing the game in general. the single player multiplayer is a fun experience, and despite the low gun and map count, it does take quite a while to finish upgrading guns, so by the time you're done they're going to add more in December. the zombies map is also really fun with lots of viable routes to train zombies and its nice that the XP for your guns counts towards multiplayer. the guns that are in the game feel unique for the most part, but once again the developers made the MP5 OP which is annoying because its the exact problem that plagued modern warfare. Why use anything else? I wanted this game to be at least as good as modern warfare, so I'm hoping that there are some graphical upgrades and fixes to these issues or else it just feels like a step back.
