A clear passion project and bold piece of art. It is the culmination of the production teams many struggles and successes over the long long production time and their work stands as a shining image of brilliance and one which other anime will likely attempt to follow. The story is confusing and hard to understand (especially nearer the end) but this is a funny case where that doesnt even matter one bit, as the themes and imagery carry the film brilliantly. An enjoyable, intricate, and deeply personal story about mental health and the anguishes associated with great burdens. A complete masterpiece.
