Heroes of Olympus is a sequel to the Percy Jackson book series. It is about seven Greek and Roman demigods who save the world from the awakening of the Earth goddess, Gaia while facing many obstacles in the way. These books are a wonderland of demigod adventure awaiting you to read them. Heroes of Olympus show that a team with many weaknesses come together and not only learn to trust each other blindly quite literally even but also learn secrets about themselves and their past that puts things into perspective. The humor in these books makes the characters feel more human given that they are part god. The humor is also so well put so as to not offend anybody. A great reason to love these books are their descriptions of the scene which paint a picture for us and with every detail letting us see the situation from Rick Riordan’s perspective like the battle scenes the seven take part in. The complexity of their plotlines and how even though they are impossible to figure out everything falls into place with such intricate details that are crucial to the plot is one of the many crowd-pleasers. The best part of the books is how much you learn, not only about situations that are totally plausible but also about the greek and roman mythology and history the seven remind each other to defeat a monster that they are facing. At last but not least every chapter of these books is from a different character’s point of view which helps us see their character development from being afraid and insecure to being adventurous and taking the lead when necessary while also letting us learn about them and how supportive they are of each other. The unique perspectives of each character also help us understand how they perceive a situation and their readiness to face a challenge. The amazing trust and ability to advance their element makes them an invincible team. I would recommend reading the Percy Jackson series before reading these books but can ensure you that nevertheless, you will have an amazing time including the academic bonus that comes with it.
