I have seen people think Google reviews can be fake and paid, but I am just a regular guy who watched it on the first day at the 6:00 PM show in Melbourne. So you can trust me and read this.
I usually don’t feel like writing a review for a movie, but Kalki made me scream and tell everyone this is one of the best things India has ever made.
No comparison with the background music,
One of the best action scenes,
Story perfectly used without creating any disrespectful scenes or dialogue related to the Mahabharata (one of the things I was nervous about).
People might be going to see Prabhas, but the entire movie was transformed by the role of Ashwatthama, played by Amitabh sir. What an actor, man—those eyes, those action scenes, those dialogues, those emotional scenes—Loved every single frame of him.
If I start speaking about cameos or any other aspect of this movie, I might not stop typing tonight. But one cameo with Prabhas before a fighting scene was the best—you will love it for sure.
Not much to talk about Deepika’s scenes, but the pre-interval scene is the best on-screen moment of her career. Trust me, no comparison—just goosebumps.
Kamal Hasan sir is another reason to see this movie on such big screens. Trust me, fewer frames but the deadliest frames—some dialogues can make you feel afraid of his presence in front of your eyes, especially after the climax at the end.
Now, the last thing I want to talk about is the climax of the movie.
It turned the table in every aspect. Some scenes related to the Mahabharata are presented, and keep some tissues with you because you might get tears of joy seeing Prabhas in such a way. The shouts in my theater stopped, not in a negative way, but because people couldn’t believe their eyes about what they saw.
Man, Nag Ashwin sir, no comments. I respect this entire movie in every way possible.
This movie will be an answer for years to people who want to talk about Indian movies with international audiences. I will recommend almost everyone who loves Indian cinema to get one of the best theater experiences.
This review might be a bit casual, but I tried to write everything I am feeling right now.
One special message to Nag Ashwin sir, if this ever reaches him:
I really want to hug you and thank you, sir, for making this movie and this experience. It will stay in my heart forever.
Thank you.
