An awesome film. A thought-provoking and intense period piece about trauma, loss, oppression and the healing power of the human spirit. A stellar performance by John David Washington, whose father, Denzel, produced the film which was based on an August Wilson play. Danielle Deadwyler and Samuel L Jackson added depth to the complexity and supernatural under pinnings of the story. A great tribute to Black History as the powers that be try to erase the cultural imprint of Black humanity in the U.S.
