The film should have been posted as a romance titled Napoleon and Josepine with a few battles thrown in so the hubby would go along with the Mrs.
the battle scenes are pretty spectacular, but any sort of battle tactics used by the French at that time were not shown especially the of use infantry attacking In a Column. Towards the end of the film we see Napolean having breakfast on a RN battleship while verbally talking to a bunch of midshipman who according to a senior officer adored him, Midshipmen of that time were aged between 12 & 14 were worked like dogs and would never been allowed in the captains cabin to loaf around to listen to a prisoners anecdotes. This scene is followed directly by the Duke of Wellington entering to tell Napoleon of his fate. Å´here as Wellington never met, or corresponded in his life time with Napoleon. I realise poetic licence is allowed in films but surely the makers should take into consideration that some people will take this sort of thing as fact.
