I lived and worked in HK from 1996 til 2013. Returning every year (once or twice) until covid outbreak. My last trip was October 2019. My kids were born there. I divorced there. I think I have a good understanding of Hong Kong. To me this is NOT Hong Kong. This is not the expatriates either. The husband must make at least 300k per month to afford the posh middle level apartment. The maids and chauffeur. Plus the Kowloon flat (not studio). They must be rolling in money ! Oh and by the way gweilo kids don’t disappear that easily in Hong Kong Too noticeable ! And Hong Kong people even though, super busy, are kind, compassionate and family oriented . They would stop the kid within few meters. Unless the maid kidnapped him and that’s a different story all together Anyway this is not the real hk. Just a scratch
