It was very well played, and interestingly shot. The story has many layers. Two themes stood out to me. The first one is the self- validation: the main character undertakes a painful and dramatic journey into self - discovery, trying to define hapiness, identify the source of her disappointment, and connect with the 'self' at whatever cost it takes. The second theme is that of love understood as an idealised understanding, conectedness of minds. A very romantic and perhaps idealised concept, reminiscent of first infatuation, intense emotions and transgressing boundaries or limitations, but in fact volatile and doomed to fail. Both themes are intertwined and unravel in a story that is both banal (middle life crisis, marriage troubles, trust abuse, longing for the impossible / forbidden) and fantastical (science fiction / thriller set up). Perhaps it's the lives most ordinary that are most dramatic, after all.
