I'm glad I did not pay for a theater ticket! Frankly, I was waiting for this movie to help me assess whether I'd keep Netflix or not. $200 million for this movie??
Whats wrong with Scorsese? Basically, he could not turn a bad book into a decent movie. Worse yet, he did not make an effort.
It's all pure hype, a bad movie; let's face it, Scorsese and Tarantino are in the top tier for directors or producers, but ticket sales do not measure quality.
Yes, Scorsese was sold on new technology for this movie, lots of technology. Did Coppola need that much of his budget for technology while shooting the Godfather series? Of course not.
This is no more than a TV show with lots of cussing and violence.
Scorsese: I agree with you, the super-hero movies are not art, but 'The Irishman' belongs in this group, you did not produce art, just a lengthy and boring documentary.
