As much a relationship and love story as a sci-fi thriller, Spaceman explores the depths of introspection stemming from long isolation. We see the alien as a physical being but he can just as easily be Jacob's alter ego that he was struggling to understand so he can open up to and hold on to his relationship with his wife. The disintegration of the alien reflects the destruction of the walls he built between his emotional and rational self so he can be a whole, integrated being. Wonderfully acted by Adam Sandler in an unusual role for this comedian. Bravo!
