It's middling. After the first listen I can't imagine it landing on my top five Blink albums list. There's a lot of auto-tune especially at the start, not great.
The drumming of course, as always, is just fantastic and driving the whole album. Overall though it's like listening to Blink after Neighborhoods taking a step backward, and I go back to Neighborhoods because it is the last full album with Tom. It's not edgy, there's nothing new about it (other than lyrics which ring depressingly of middle-aged problems and crisis) and it just overall doesn't seem like a progression from Neighbourhoods. Then again when Neighborhoods came out it took a little bit for me to get on to it, so I'm kind of hoping that this album will sound better the second time through.
I'm glad though that everyone else, or most others, seem to like it better than I did. Ultimately Blink has always been my go-to band to make me happy so good to know that they're still doing it for other people.
