TERRIBLE!! They chose the WRONG actors for the leads. NOTHING, and I mean NOTHING about Madison Clark makes her a Post-apocalyptic leader or a tough survivor. Her stiff body language and weak physical exertions (she can’t handle tools right or fake a punch properly). She was most definitely chosen for the role because they wanted a meek, mousy looking weakling to develop into a tough, bad azs and cold hearted leader-killer for the series. But that didn’t pan out. Madison is still just a quiet, gentle soul that belongs behind that high school desk. She’s soft through and through, so much so that this role is out of her league.
Madison Clark’s daughter, Alicia is also the wrong choice. Besides ALWAYS having her hair and makeup done like she was still at home on a lazy Sunday, she comes off as a whiny, internally suffering teen brat that thinks she knows better than anyone. There was a review that said she could have been better put to use if she had a more integral role and less as Madison’s sidekick in the background, and I would agree, if she behaved more humble like a REAL survivor and was beaten down by her parents and life itself. She plays an 18 year old in a 15 year old’s mindset.
Nick Clark is a great role. I don’t have any issues with the character. In fact, Nick and Daniel Salazar are the best people this show has! The two were the characters I looked forward to the most. Another plus, the special effects and filming locations are AMAZING! Real nitty gritty sites and buildings were used, and the makeup is top notch. Great job!
Finally, I know how much “reality” isn’t high on the list of Sci-Fi shows, but the Walking Dead series PRIDES itself in being “realistic”, yet there are so many scenes that are IMPOSSIBLE to sit through and watch. I’ve had to turn the television off and stop watching a few times, it’s that bad. One last thing, don’t worry about the BORING first two episodes, the show picks up after that.
