The movie has a lot of high points, with new traps, new settings, better cinematography, and a full perspective of a detective instead of just using them as an occasional plot device. Chris Rock does a good job not being bad in a movie, though one thing missing was that there's a feel that the movie was more directed as an exploitation film statement that just gets lost.
