A must watch movie for every Indian and Pakistani too. Why not the entire planet? Even if you do not understand the military culture and hence a few cryptic dialogues, gestures, terms and implied sentiments/communication too, What shines sparkly clear is a clean, bubbly uncorrupted, honest, dedicated & devoted mind That speaks it’s mind and hands over his resignation letter as chief of the army staff, having won the 1971 war purely based on a few adverse press ( presstitiude) remarks. It is purely because of bravehearts like Fd Mrshl Manekshaw (FMM) this country stands safe and unbroken while defeating evil and divisive forces both inside and outside. The strength and courage of FMM stands in not only commanding his army, but also convincing the political leadership on taking the right decisions. A great leader gives credit where credit is due , FMM Simplifies this by deputing left and general Jagjit Singh to accept the surrender and sign that 1971, war three with West Pakistan i Gen Niazi ( Uncle of the much famed Pakistani fast bowler Imran Khan) Coming to the movie, all these aspects are visible with cinematic excellence. How once brothers / comrade in arms, Yahya Khan and FMM turn adversaries is brilliantly brought out. The military culture that you are an officer and leader outside your home and the better half commands and rules within the domestic walls is so beautifully brought out as is the mutual love between FMM & his wife Not to mention the two dogs. Some traditional Indians with rural background may not Understand/ appreciate the Army social culture, but then it is a good education. The tendency of the FM to use the word sweetie for whoever he wants to convey the point affectionately is such a strong lesson in communication skills That’s the ability to convey a point without any malice, bitterness or ulterior motives. I saw this movie with my Army veteran father, who fought 1971 war under the FMM and even at 90, his Josh went sky high, and there was a spring in his step. So I guess I don’t require further endorsement of this movie. Appoint in spirituality that this movie brings out that if you do your job honestly and with full devotion and dedication and the confidence that brings out of professionalism then, as the alchemist says, no force in the nature, can stop you from achieving and rising to the Zenith. I am sure the minorities of this great country, particularly the parties shall be thrilled after watching this movie and shall have a blow in their heart when they come out of the movie hall Hopefully into bright sunshine. There is a time when you are tired of the all The action, animation and drama and look forward to something different, more ordinary yet fresh, natural lifelike, the run of the mill kind. So when something with a retro set up turns up it catches your attention with its simplicity and comfortable pace which is neither too jetsetting nor competing with a snail pace. A cute romantic storyline with overhangs of the power of the church in a small society somewhere in the wheat bowl of midwest America during World War II. There is a pair of Mills and Boon plot but the communication gap between The German girl who emigrates to America for an arranged marriage and her attempt to learn the local lingo adds to the uncertainty where the plot is headed as she is viewed with suspicion by the priest in the local parish Who adjourns her marriage in the middle of the proceedings when he finds out that the émigré is a German girl. After some twists & turns the underlying message is that farming and banking don’t mix As we are seeing here in India with all the political hullabaloo over the new farming laws. The cinematography with close up highlights the fresh faces with restrained expressions and the vast expanse of the wheat farms is beautiful nature at its best. A welcome change of a flick, eminently watchable with a surprise climax, though ‘ it Happened by accident one night’.

A gripping gruesome unmissable suspense drama in an unlikely military setting strong popular actors with John Travolta in lead and one of my fav James Wood. Be cautioned the plot plumbs the depth of negatives of military life

A very mature and intelligent packaging of surreal drama supplemented with brilliant acting. An unlikely romance with a social challenge of wide chasm in age which though quite anti-cultural to Indian sensibilities is an omnipresent temptation that especially calls to question the institution of marriage. The photography surprisingly is also so much in tandem as is the background musical score adding to the cauldron and roller coaster of emotions conveyed with captivating sensitivity. A must see. My congratulations to all those involved in creating this highly entertaining work.

Riveting . This serial is a killer of your time and self control against binge viewing . The producers should put up a disclaimer regarding the danger of addiction. The plot, sets, unique theme of policemen catching their own bent coppers is both innovative and gripping and most of all the excellent cast and performances make for unblinking viewing . Each season has seen a buildup to an unexpected climax. I am impressed with the quality of acting as people in uniform and the integrity of their system. Having seen four seasons awaiting fifth on Netflix. See at your own peril.
