I love the clashing of culture in my own experience watching the show on hulu. I did not know it was a book, but I have ordered it now. The story is a very nice take on semi historical events. The mindset of people in feudal Japan was entirely different to me as a westerner, giving unique insights and a nice paradigm shift.
