This is the best films of its genre IMO. The presentation and dialogue of the film, its characters and the struggles of the Afghanistani people, their rich history juxtaposed against a military force thinking it’s doing what’s right. Lead actors are superb…genuine and authentic. Ripper soundtrack too. Stunningly visual. For a smart, well written and acted “war” movie, it’s worth watching.

The only thing memorable about this film is just how stunning Montana is. You wait 50 odd minutes for any meaningful dialogue, thinking the film will now finally allow Newton to show her acting talents…. But nope the script continues to burden her with just more padding out of the dreary backstory. Dragging out a short story with periods of nothing just adds to the frustration of watching this film. Predictable ending…revenge meets revenge, tit for tat back and fro…do not waste your time. It’s anything but thrilling.
