Giving this 4 purely for the actress and the cinematography. She wasn’t meant to be a survivalist. They tried to play on that by having her make mistakes. Not sure why that confuses people or people get upset that she did dumb things to survive. She’s been in a plane crash, watched two people die, is cold and hungry and thirsty AND pregnant. None of this is conducive for thinking clearly at all. Silly to point out what she could have done or shouldn’t have done etc. By the last 2 episodes, I was fast forwarding through the flashbacks. Anyone who clicks on this series is doing so for an interesting survival show- yet we’re stuck watching a little girl get emotionally abused by her parents over and over and the flashback story doesnt necessarily develop any. As many other reviews say, this came down to the writers, period. I get the approach and appeal of building her character but it didn’t require so many long scenes of her staring at her mom or dad as a little girl with no real dialogue. Less flashbacks and this would have likely gotten far better reviews! The love interest was super creepy to me and the first few episodes I thought he may hurt her or something. Bad casting or acting I suppose. Again the main character was great she’s just victim to a lackluster script.
