I appreciate reading the reviews while watching the movie because it helped put things in perspective for me. The mom abandoned her ‘brown’ kids & they just wanted her to accept accountability; the bi-racial kids yearned for their ‘brown’ heritage & the ‘European’ father just wanted to understand why she deserted them. The mom wanted to live a privilege life without having to pay for her past decisions. The kids from the past look like they had a hard life & wanted revenge for their mom abandoning them. They wanted to feel loved & accepted by their mom. So revenge was the ultimate result.
