To be honest, at first I was expecting another run-of-the-mill war book when I retrieved this book for school. It's not even my kind of genre.
But it's so beautifully written and the words are twisted in such a way that allows me to create a bond with the characters. And I don't usually cry to books, but this book ended so beautifully yet so brutally, and I must say I did sob quite a lot while reading it.
This is hands down the best book I have read this year. I highly recommend it.
