The writers definitely lightly based if off "The Control" game. There are so much similarities like the containment suits with the metal addon torso which would be the 'HRA' in the game.
Wish it was more realistic like in the first episode, there was one dude defending such a valuable crash site. There would be a ton irl. Also seems like it wouldn't just be 2 agents investigating and going around just by themselves.
