Picked it up in a no-value rack at a community college.
This book is supposedly very rare! It was never going to be a hit.
However, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and found much of the content extremely fascinating! Porter really took care to teach you about the history and science of the field without resorting to oversimplified analogies nor committing to a textbook format.
The result is an extremely informative and engaging book even if it is rather old and outdated.
There are still many figures that help illuminate what Porter is talking about and they do not hold back on their complexity. This allows the reader to really engage in the topic and use their imagination to better understand the topic.
This book is perhaps dry to most. But if you are a nerd who is interested in satellite technology and/or aerospace engineering and you want to really feel like you have a source where you can dive in and explore the subject and its history, then this book is great!
