A complete disappointment! Every plot development could be seen a mile down the road. Of course we knew they would win, but the so-called love story was foretold the minute the pretty young blonde showed up. Some scenes made the actors look self-conscious, like “We’re a bunch of tough guys looking like a bunch of tough guys getting hot under the collar, and talking like the world depends on a bunch of good looking young lads in a boat.” I couldn’t bring myself to care about the characters or the sport. The film is beautifully shot and the costumes are totally believable, however.
