paris, texas is a true treasure of cinema. an eye-opening concoction of scenery and visuals that were ripped straight from a dream, a haunting score making you feel every miniscule emotion, and terrific acting; giving you the opportunity to know the characters. it stays with you, and you will think about it for years after the end credits roll for the first time.
to me, it imitates the uncomfortable; hard to talk about aspects of life, seeming like a small record or capsule of the emotions that are the most memorable. belonging, loss, grief, love. it is a must-see film for anyone who wants to reminisce about what their now-hollow life once was.
