Whatโs interesting in reading the reviews is that people either loved it or hated it. Yes itโs a survival story, but not just about the wilderness. When you grow up in a dysfunctional family, and if youโre abandoned by a parent who really loves you, this issue haunts someone into their adulthood. If you focus on the unrealistic elements of Liv,s struggles in the wilderness, I would agree that most of this couldnโt happen. But her strength lies in coming to terms with her past, the loss of her mother, and eventually her father. One of the most beautifully touching scenes for me was when she was sitting on the bank of that churning river and her fatherโs spirit told her she was her own person, and could make her own way. Yes our families do form the basis of our being, but what we do with it is our choice.
Such an insightful and beautifully done show. It doesnโt need a โhappy endingโ, to satisfy you.
