Overall impression: 1 star
The good: -- the "boyfriend" actor does an excellent job.
-- there are some tense moments that make the movie exciting.
-- green screen moments are nigh unnoticeable.
The bad: -- too much time is spent before the plane ride in an attempt to build character and relationship, when it could have been interspersed throughout the plane ride,
-- some scenes, like the retrieval of rum, relationship to the bride, etc. were unnecessary.
-- the ending came off as quite contrived, popping out of nowhere like a deus ex machina.
The downright ugly: -- how do things in that cockpit get broken so easily? I don't remember but one thing being thrown around the cabin. Maybe the phones, too, because somehow they were busted? I could understand cracked screens, but completely inoperable?
-- I might understand being a little hesitant to fly into a storm, but, planes do it all the time. There should have been a better reason to send them off course.
-- I've heard of lightening the load of a helicopter to (possibly) preserve fuel, but a light aircraft?
-- That actress is one of the worst actresses I've seen. There were several scenes of her smiling, where I at once thought, "If I were to take out the light soundtrack, and put in a sinister one, that smile would look more realistic." She can't emote to save her life.
If even one of these bad to ugly things had been fixed in some way, it might deserve 2 stars. But it's too late for that.
