The truman show always stood out for me as a unique gem in hollywood, it seems to be able to walk a line that caters to the average viewer but also has an artistic depth that hits notes that resonate with people even all these years later.
One of the signs of a real piece of art is the way it can be interpreted differently and mean many different things to many different people and this movie absolutely meets that criteria. Jim Carrey is fantastic, he carries the movie and isn't the kind of person you might expect for this role and it's not the kind of movie you would think to cast him in, but he makes it his own and I just can't imagine anyone else delivering it like he did on that level.
One of my all time favourite movies and I'll always sit and watch it when it's on, or every now and then I'll stick it on. As I mentioned before about how one might interpret the movie, it has it's own meaning for me and I enjoy this. If you havent seen this movie, take the time to watch it, it's not a 'perfect' movie, but some things don't need to be perfect to have a special place. What it is though, is a great movie, a great story, and something that stands on its own and you will probably always remember the movie and what it meant for you.
