I was a little Jewish girl in the fifties in Brooklyn. I cannot at all relate to this show. They represent the kind of people I just didn't have anything in common with. We were lower middle income and I think they represent a part of an upwardly mobile materialistic crowd of people. The show turned me off in the first few scenes, esp. with foul language and burlesque stripper. That's not what I remember of the fifties, although I was just a kid back then. But I found the lady protagonist to be shallow, crass, and not very amusing.
