As moving as it is complex. The juxtaposition of characters as they age and drift back to much younger days is an experience unto itself. I found my younger self being drawn to youthful images of De Niro, Pesci, and Pacino solidly placed in their roles only to be reminded that we all have aged significantly. Scorsese didn’t manipulate us; he made every audience member a piece of this story. Like “Frank”, we all had to be personally involved to make it happen.
