The Convert movie was so incredible and mind blowing how the culture's were like then. In the late 1970s, I use to live in Gate Pa, Tauranga, and learnt a bit regarding how the Maoris and the Pakehas had their battle. The movie bought back memories of the battles that happened in New Zealand. I remember going through Ruatoria in the early 1980s and the only language they spoke was in Maori.
