I loved every other book by Perrin but this really took a turn I didn’t like half way. It started really well, with an interesting exploration of characters but something is revealed in the second half that really makes no sense and becomes a tedious a superficial analysis of transgender issues. I would say the last third of the book is not credible, gimmicky and a fairly cheap way to introduce surprise in the book that really, for me, spoiled it all.
